Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 7, 2026 · Last updated: July 7, 2026
The short version. PCS Cross Check is a fully offline clinical reference tool.
  • We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
  • The app works with no internet connection and makes no network requests of any kind — it does not even hold internet permission on Android.
  • There is no account, no login, no sign-up, and no advertising.
  • We use no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party software development kits (SDKs).
  • Anything you type (such as a patient's age or weight) stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

1. Who we are

PCS Cross Check ("the app," "we," "us," or "our") is published by PCS Cross Check Inc., a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information. It applies to the PCS Cross Check mobile application distributed through the Google Play Store and to the web version of the app.

2. Our core privacy commitment

PCS Cross Check is designed to run 100% offline. The application does not connect to any server, cloud service, or third party. It contains all of its clinical content on the device and does not require — or request — network access to function. On Android, the app is published without the INTERNET permission, which means it is technically incapable of sending your data off the device.

Because of this design, we never receive any information about you or your use of the app.

3. Information we do NOT collect

We do not collect, request, or have access to any of the following:

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account credentials (there are no accounts);
  • Location data, GPS, or approximate location;
  • Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or usage/analytics data;
  • Contacts, photos, files, microphone, or camera data;
  • Any patient health information, and any information about you as a user.

4. Information you enter, and where it lives

To calculate weight-based drug doses and tailor the reference content, the app lets you enter clinical inputs such as a patient's age and weight, and lets you choose a service profile and provider level. This information:

  • is used only on your device, in the moment, to display the correct doses and directives;
  • is stored — where the app keeps it at all — only in your device's local application storage (the browser/WebView localStorage on the device), so the app can remember your preferences and current patient between screens;
  • is never transmitted, uploaded, or shared with us or with anyone else, because the app has no network capability;
  • remains under your control — you can remove it at any time by clearing the patient in the app, or by clearing the app's storage/data in your device settings (or uninstalling the app).

The app is a clinical decision-support and reference tool. It is not a patient record system and is not intended to be used to create, store, or manage a durable record of any identifiable patient. Please do not use the free-form fields to store identifying patient details.

5. No advertising, analytics, or tracking

PCS Cross Check contains no advertisements, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, no social-media integrations, and no third-party trackers. We do not build user profiles and we do not use cookies for tracking. The app does not "phone home."

6. Permissions we use

The Android app requests a single permission:

  • Vibrate — used only for on-device haptic feedback (for example, alarm and timer cues in the Code Blue and newborn resuscitation tools). This permission does not access any personal data.

The app does not request internet, location, storage, camera, microphone, contacts, or any other sensitive permission.

7. Children's privacy

PCS Cross Check is a professional reference tool intended for use by qualified and student paramedics and other healthcare providers. It is not directed to children, and because we collect no personal information, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

8. Data security and retention

Because no data ever leaves your device, there is no server-side data for us to secure, breach, or retain. Any inputs you enter are retained only in your device's local app storage until you clear the patient, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Protecting the device itself (screen lock, encryption, and your organization's mobile-device policies) is managed by you and your device.

9. Third parties

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any information — because we do not have any to share. The app bundles no third-party analytics, advertising, or data-broker components. The app is distributed through the Google Play Store; your download and installation of the app are handled by Google under Google's own privacy policy, which is separate from ours.

10. Your rights

Privacy laws such as Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Ontario's health-privacy framework give you rights over your personal information. Because PCS Cross Check does not collect or hold any personal information about you, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. Any information you entered lives only on your device and is entirely within your control.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add a feature. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at this address. Material changes will be reflected in the app's store listing. Your continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Medical disclaimer. PCS Cross Check is a clinical decision-support and educational reference tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. It does not replace clinical judgment, medical direction, or the current official Ontario ALS Patient Care Standards (ALS PCS) and BLS Patient Care Standards (BLS PCS). It is intended for use by qualified healthcare providers, who remain fully responsible for all clinical decisions. Always calculate doses independently, verify your carried drug concentration, and follow your service's medical direction.
